Simon Callow sends message of support

Remembering Srebrenica ambassador Simon Callow CBE has contributed a powerful and personal message of support following Srebrenica Memorial Week.

The celebrated actor, writer and director joined us at the Memorial Service in Westminster Abbey and a formal reception in the Houses of Parliament hosted by Speaker of the House The Rt Hon. John Bercow MP. He has since sent us his message of support.

Simon is one of a number of high-profile public figures who act as our ambassadors. These include anti-racism campaigner The Baroness Lawrence of Clarendon OBE, Doreen Lawrence; Chelsea and Bosnia & Herzegovina international goalkeeper Asmir Begović; world-renowned journalist Martin Bell OBE; ethnic minority women’s rights campaignmer The Baroness Meral Hussein-Ece OBE; and SNP Leader in Westminster Angus Robertson MP.

This made my day. This is the sole purpose of my telling the story.
Besides, I have talked to so many wonderful people from @SrebrenicaUK whom I deeply respect and admire.
Thank you all for everything. We shall never grow tired of remembering and reminding about the genocide.

Books help us bridge ignorance and misinformation, an important aspect of combating hatred. Every Friday, we hope you'll join us in reading a book that discusses the Bosnian war and genocide. This week's book will transport you to war-time Sarajevo through a child's eyes.
